Seward County Sheriff’s Office Report on Saturday Evening Pursuit

On June 20th, 2020 at approx. 8:38 pm a Seward County Sheriff Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle making a wide turn coming onto Hwy 51 from County Road D in Seward County.

The Deputy activated his emergency lights and siren and the vehicle did not stop. The vehicle crossed the center line of Hwy 51 then back to the shoulder, several times. The vehicle continued on Hwy 51 crossing Hwy 83 and onto County Road 13.

When they came upon the intersection of Road 13 and Road K, Carlos Garcia-Alamos did not negotiate the curve and lost control rolling the vehicle 3 to 4 times, ejecting Carlos Garcia-Alamos from the vehicle.

The Kansas Highway patrol arrived shortly after and took over the accident scene.
The driver Carlos Garcia-Alamos succumbed to his injuries sustained from the accident at Southwest Medical Center.

The pursuit lasted approx. 7 minutes and maximum speeds reached 88 mph.
