Seward County Sheriff’s Office Investigate Injury Accident

The Seward County Sheriff Office along with the Liberal Fire Department, responded to an injury accident at the intersection of Kansas Ave and Tucker Rd. at approx. 9:25am Monday morning. Jorge De La Torre from Plains, was driving a 2007 Chevy Tahoe,when he attempted to turn south onto Kansas Ave from Tucker. A North bound 2008 Ford Explorer, driven by Cornelius Wieve-Friessen of Kismet, entered the intersection, striking De La Torre’s vehicle on the front driver’s side, front wheel area. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. A passenger from the Tahoe was transported with possible injuries by Seward County EMS. No citations were issued. The accident is still under investigation.
