Seward County Commission Meets Hears ARPA Funding request

The Seward County Commission met Monday evening and heard a request by the Western Kansas Child Advocacy Center for American Rescue Plan Act 2021 Funding. Loss of funding was $177,000.00 and WKCAC irequested $10,000.00 to help support the continued services of this program for the children in the community.  This funding will help pay for the position that provides the direct services to the children. The commission will further look at this request when the Consultant Group for the ARPA is up and running.

A Public Hearing was held for the possibility of vacating a portion of Road G. This vacation of the road was approved by the Commissioners.

Also, at the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Board the Commission adopted Resolution 2021-27 for Thresher Wind Energy, LLC a successor to Cimarron, who had previously requested the ability to build 2 mud mats within the proposed project.
