Brock Kappelmann - January 7, 2018 9:51 am

The Lady Saints won by 77 Saturday night.  First, let that sink in.  Second, realize that is the biggest point disparity in the history of the Jayhawk Conference.  The final in the Colby Community Building was Seward 113, Colby 36.  The win surpasses Seward’s 69 point win over Pratt in 1999.  The win was Seward’s 23rd in a row over Colby.

The Lady Saints had dizzying 31 assists and made 17 three pointers.  Seward made 56 percent of their shots.  The Lady Saints forced 30 Colby turnovers.  Seward built an early lead of 42-3 and led 49-11 at halftime.

Amy Scott scored her career high 22 points on 8-12 shooting.  Amy had five steals and four assists.  Mollie Mounsey had 18 while Lexi Hernandez had 17.  Vilma Covane led Seward on the glass with eight rebounds.

Seward is 13-2 and 9-2 in the Jayhawk.  They remain in the four way tie for first with Independence, Hutchinson, and Cowley.  The #15 Lady Saints play at Dodge City Wednesday night at 6 with Saints Shootaround at 5:45 on 107.5 and kscbnews.net.
