Seward Basketball Players Determine Next Destinations

Three Seward basketball players decided recently which four year schools they will attend. Forward Marcus James signed at Sam Houston State. The athletic 6’6″ forward averaged 11 points and five rebounds per game for the 24-9 Saints this year. He joins a program which went 25-8 and lost by nine to Baylor in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Guard Donte McCarter of Greenville, North Carolina verbally committed to Southwest Baptist. The 6’1″ transfer to Seward from Pitt Community College averaged 11 points per game for Seward.

Lady Saint point guard Megan Lassley signed at division 2 Washburn despite interest from several divsion 1 schools. The guard from Wichita South averaged 10 points and four assists a game for the 31-3 Lady Saints. She will join Hutchinson’s Naudia Campbell to play for the Lady Blues who went 27-4 this year.
