SCCC/ATS Announces GED Graduation, Offers Allied Health Camp

The Colvin Adult Learning Center at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School will host a graduation ceremony to honor those students who successfully completed the general education development testing program to receive their Kansas State High School equivalency diploma.

The graduation is at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 10 in the SCCC/ATS gymnasium.

Mary Lloyd, the oldest graduate of the program at 85 will be the guest speaker.

The Allied Health Division at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School will hold an Allied Health Careers Camp from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., May 28-29, at the Epworth Allied Health Education Center, 6th and Washington, Liberal, Kansas.

Students entering grades 9-12 can explore health careers in Medial Assistant, Respiratory Therapy, Surgical Technology, Medical Laboratory Technician, Sports Medicine and Nursing. Instructors will address educational requirements, skills and typical job duties and participate in interactive, hands-on activities that highlight skills, equipment,

technologies and resources of individual

programs.

The cost is $10 and students will receive a T-shirt and lunch.
