SCCC Town Hall Regarding Pool Sees Packed House

KSCB News - February 27, 2024 7:38 am

More than 90 people attended the standing-room-only SCCC Town Hall meeting Monday evening to discuss the future of the current swimming pool. College President Brad Bennett is soliciting public input on the subject.

Numerous people spoke in favor of the pool, both for the college and for the larger community. One issue is the cost of maintaining the existing pool. According to figures presented by Dr. Bennett at the town hall, the pool costs approximately 125,000 dollars annually to operate.

The next town hall on the SCCC pool is Thursday at noon, in the second floor conference rooms of the student union.
