LIBERAL, Kan. — Seward County Community College facilities will host the funeral services for Liberal business owner and community member Rod Riley on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Greenhouse gym. In addition, the SCCC Dining Hall will be closed to public patrons for lunch. Student meals will be served as usual. The Saints Bookstore, also located in the Student Union building, will close from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Wellness Center will close at noon, reopening on Thursday.
“We have created a parking map for our employees and students and ask that our campus help in providing support to the community during this difficult time,” said SCCC President Brad Bennett.
Family members attending the 1 p.m. memorial service for Riley can park in the east lot immediately adjacent to the SCCC Student Union building. The Family Parking area is also designated for the use of handicapped parking patrons. Entrance to the gymnasium through the south-facing doors near the loading dock will be available for family.
Guests attending the service should park in the south lot by the campus circle drive, between the baseball facilities and the humanities building. Entrance to the gym through the west-facing doors near the campus interior courtyard will be available.
Campus assistance with parking lot access will be available. Bennett said the college takes its role as a community resource to heart. “Liberal is a close-knit community, and at times like these, it’s important for us to do what we can to help.”
