Salsa Showdown to Benefit Bright Futures

The Sigma Alpha Sorority will once again be looking for the best salsa during it’s Annual Salsa Showdown. The event will be held on Saturday, October the 5th at the Liberal Country Club. The evening will start with the Salsa Sampling of the sizzling and savory salsas from various groups, organizations, and individuals at 6:00pm, followed by a Taco and enchilada Bar from 6:30-7:30pm. At 7:30pm there will be a Live Auction which will consist of baskets of Goodies and other prizes as donated by local businesses and individuals. Tickets are $20 in advance and can be purchased at El Kan Drug. Ticket price at the door will be $25. So if you think you have the best Salsa in the Southwest, and would like to enter the competition, contact Jennifer Hyde at 620-482-2239. Prize money amounts this year are, the Judges Choice winner will receive $300 and the People’s Choice winner will receive $200. Proceeds from the evenings event will benefit Bright Futures which provides a path for our community to engage and enable children to achieve success.
