Saints Trade Shutouts in Arizona

The Seward softball team split two games in Phoenix, Arizona Monday. The Lady Saints beat Lake Region State by the astounding score of 29-0 before a 2-0 loss to South Mountain.

In the Lake Region State win, Seward scored 20 runs in the third inning after scoring four in the first and five in the second. Becky Allen and Vanessa Oakden hit home runs. Oakden drove home six runs and Felisha Vogelaar was 4-5 with four RBI’s. Marissa Chavez was 4-5 and Andrea Sitter was 3-6 with four runs. Lauren Salazar added four RBI’s. Jaclyn Wagner pitched and allowed just one hit.

In game two, South Mountain scored one in the third and one in the fourth against Brittany Hopkins who allowed just five hits. Seward managed just two hits.

Seward is 22-5 and plays at Glendale Wednesday and at Mesa Thursday.
