KSCB News - March 19, 2012 6:55 am

The Seward County Saints and Barton County Cougars split double header Sunday at Brent Gould Field. The split means the Saints win the series 3-1 and are 8-4 in the Jayhawk West. With winds blowing out to left as high as 45 miles per hour, the Saints won game one 7-3 and Barton run ruled the Saints in game two 18-8 in seven innings.

In the game one win, Tyler Wiedenfeld (3-2) pitched six and one-third innings striking out six for the win. Johnny Griffith pitched two-thirds of an inning for his fourth save. Willie Gustin blasted a two run homer in the third to give the Saints a 3-0 lead. A Jake Barrios two RBI single in the sixth gave Seward insurance. Carlos Dorado was 3-4 with an RBI and a triple.
