Saints Late Inning Stuggles Continue

The #14 Seward County Saints problems late in games continued Tuesday as they fell in a continuation of a suspended game from earlier in the month, 4-2 to Lamar in extra innings before seeing a lead slip through their fingers again in the second game of the double header before falling 7-5. The Saints and Lopes continued their game from February 2 nd in the first game of the double header, the game was tied 2-2 with the Saints batting in the bottom of the 8 th . Seward couldn’t score in the 8 th and Lamar hit a two run, two out home run in the 9 th to win 4-2. In game two, the Saints led 5-2 in the after 6 but gave up five runs in the 7 th and didn’t score again to lose 7-5. Seward has now lost 4 in a row and sits at 4-5 overall on the season. They will return to action Friday at Brent Gould Field against Frank Phillips at 1:00.
