Saint Struggles Continue at Neosho

Brock Kappelmann - February 16, 2017 7:01 am

Seward didn’t shoot straight in a 70-57 loss at Neosho in Chanute Wednesday night. The Saints missed multiple lay ups on their way to shooting 35 percent. Seward was just 13-25 from the foul line.

Neosho also beat up the Saints on the boards 44-30. The Panthers led the Saints 35-22 at halftime. The Saints cut that lead to 39-35 early in he second half. But Seward couldn’t get enough stops, gather key rebounds, or make enough shots on the way to the loss.

Charles Beauregard scored 21 points despite limping on a bruised knee. Tre Kidd added 12. Kevin Sims had 11.

Seward plummets to 5-17 in the Jayhawk. They are all alone in last place. Neosho, who went 30-6 and won the region last year is 6-16 in conference.  Seward is 8-18 overall while the Panthers are 9-17.

The Saints host Independence Saturday night at 8 for homecoming on 107.5 and kscbnews.net. Pizza Hut is the buyout sponsor. The Saints will be featured during the Green Line Thursday night at 6 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
