Saint Spikers Runner-Up in the Region Again

The Seward County volleyball team again played their best basketball at the end of the season. The Saints finally beat Barton, but then lost to the Cougars in the Region 6 championship Sunday evening at Newman University in Wichita. Barton won the title (25-23, 20-25, 25-17, 25-22). Seward defeated Barton in the first championship match for their best win of the season (26-24, 15-25, 12-25, 25-23, 15-12). The Saints opened Sunday with a win over Hutchinson (22-25, 23-25, 27-25, 25-18, 15-8).

On Saturday the Seward County Saints earned an upset win over Colby 25-23, 23-25, 25-13, 25-23 in their second round match in the Region VI Tournament Saturday but fell 25-22, 25-10, 25-13 to top seeded Barton in the semi’s to drop them back down to the elimination bracket.

Seward finishes 25-16.
