Rollover Accident On Highway 54 Claims The Life Of a Liberal Woman

A one vehicle roll over accident has claimed the life of a Liberal woman. The accident occured at approximately 4:55pm Friday afternoon on Highway 54, 5 miles west of Hooker Oklahoma. A 2002 Ford Ranger being driven by Adriana Rangel, 28, of Liberal, was eastbound on Hwy 54, when she lost control of the vehicle, entered the center median in a broadslide, and rolled 3 and 3/4 times, crossing the westbound lanes of traffic, coming to rest in the north ditch on the drivers side. Rangel was pinned in the vehicle for approximately 30 minutes, and died at the scene due to her injuries.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Trey Sheets of the Texhoma Detachment. He was assisted by Lt. Eric Brown #145, Size and Weights Trooper Boyd Perry, The Texas County Sheriffs Office, Hooker Police Dept., Hooker Fire Dept. and EMS and Guymon Fire Department and EMS.
