Redskins Win Wild One Over Hays

Liberal’s soccer team grabbed their first conference win Thursday evening at the Gary Cornelsen Sports Complex.  LHS edged Hays 6-5 on a night with multiple yellow cards.

Mike Fonseca had three goals.  Two were on penalty kicks and one on a corner kick.  Alfredo Moncayo scored and was assisted by Eric Gandara and Christian Solvabarro scored and was assisted by Elmer Rivera.  The winning goal was scored by Estevan Dominguez and assisted by Fonseca.  The Redskins are 2-9 and 1-5 in the WAC and play in the Wichita North Cup beginning Monday.
