Redskins Sweep Buffaloes

The Liberal Redskins used strong pitching, solid defense, and timely hitting to sweep Garden City in Garden Friday evening. Liberal won both games 8-1. In game one, Tyson Deaton tossed his second consecutive two hitter in a complete game win. Brandon Granger blasted a grand slam. The Buffaloes helped the Redskin cause by committing seven errors. In game two, Kyle Potts pitched the distance in a two hitter. Granger and Austin Pitts tripled. Liberal played much better defensively. The Buffs had nine errors in two games while LHS had just one. Liberal had 14 hits on the day while GCHS had four. Liberal is 9-7 and finishes 2-6 in the WAC. Liberal hosts Goodland on Tuesday and Scott City on Thursday. Garden is 3-15.
