USD 480 Board To Send the Notice to the County Clerk of the District’s Intent to Exceed the Revenue Neutral Rate

The USD 480 Board of Education met on Monday evening and in new business, approved Board Resolutions A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, and U. 

The Board also approved the Handbook Update,  the TCP Timeclocks – Renewal, and accepted the three computer bids from ByteSpeed as presented.

At the meeting the Board approved the SEED Tuition Payment, and approved the the updated BLAST Afterschool Program Fees for 26-27 school year. The fees are as follows:
FREE LUNCH:  $80 per semester

REDUCED LUNCH:  $100 per semester

FULL LUNCH: $120 per semester

Approved were the payments for the Registered Teacher Apprentices Dalhia Salas, Jennifer Gastelum and Margarita Washington.

The purchase of custodial supplies were approved and the Board approved to donate the surplus Fire Science equipment to the Liberal Fire Department.

The USD 480 Board approved Policy JCDC- Student Personal Electronic Communications Devices

This policy reflects required compliance to a new Kansas law which took effect July 1, 2026. Students are prohibited from using or accessing personal electronic communication devices during the school day while on district owned or operated property, except as expressly permitted by this policy or law.

A couple of job restructures were approved which include changing the the Job Title from Newcomer Center Coordinator to Migrant Data Clerk, and the the Job Title from PLT Instructor to Accelerated Instruction Educator.

The Board also approved sending Notice to the County Clerk of the District’s Intent to Exceed the Revenue Neutral Rate.
