Redskins Place Third in Emporia

Liberal’s wrestling team placed third out of 16 teams at Emporia Saturday. Eight Redskins placed and five made the finals. Washburn Rural won the event followed by Maize and then the Redskins.

Emmanuel Peralta won 138 pounds over a Wichita East competitor by fall. Greg McClurg, Josh Martinez, Victor Monarrez, and Adrian Orozco took second. Chris Boman was third while Payton Yancey was fourth and Juan Beltran was sixth.

The Redskins host Holcomb in a dual Thursday, January 7. Their next tournament is January 9 at Maize.
