Redskins Handle Harmon to Advance to Championship

For the third consecutive year, the Liberal soccer team will play in the 5A state soccer championship game. Liberal defeated Kansas City Harmon 1-0 Friday evening at the Hummer Sports Park in Topeka. Misael Gonzalez scored Liberal’s goal thanks to an assist from Esteban Michel. LHS led shots on goal over the Hawks 11-2. Harmon finishes 17-2 and the 11-8-1 Redskins play for their second straight state championship Saturday at 2 p.m. against Bishop Miege. The 17-2-1 Stags defeated Kapaun 4-1.
