Redskins Break Through Against Garden

The Liberal soccer team may have turned their whole season around. The Redskins beat a red hot Garden City team 2-1 Thursday evening at Redskin Field.

Misael Moncayo scored Liberal’s first goal thanks to an assist by Samuel Cruz with eight minutes to play in the first half. Samuel Cruz found the back of the net again with a goal at the 12:46 mark in the second half. Garden City scored with 8:36 remaining.

Liberal is 2-4 overall and 1-2 in the WAC. The Redskins were also 1-2 last year in the WAC before coming back to win their 11th straight WAC title. Garden City is 5-2.

Liberal plays at Thomas More Prep Thursday.
