Redskins Blank TMP for North Cup Win

The Liberal Redskins are one win away from their second tournament championship of the season. The Redskins blanked Thomas Moore Prep 2-0 Wednesday evening in the Wichita North Cup. The Redskins play in the championship game Saturday morning at 11 against either Garden City or Wichita East. Those teams play Thursday.

Pedro Lara scored Liberal’s first goal on a penalty kick in the first half and Eliel Gonzalez found the back of the net thanks to an assist from Brian Alvarez in the first half. Liberal had only eight shots on goal compared the Monarchs’ five shots on goal. Liberal is 11-1-1.
