Redskin Freshman Scores Hat Trick in 1st Win

Liberal High School head coach Lori Navarro benched her starters to begin Wednesday afternoon’s game in Wichita. The Wichita North Redskins scored two goals in the first five minutes before Liberal’s starters entered the game and restored order in a 5-3 win over North in the Wichita South Titan Classic.

Freshman Eliel Gonzalez scored three goals in the win while Timmy Fitzgerald and Elmer Quintana added one goal and one assist each. Misael Gonzalez and Josh Martinez also added assists.

The Redskins had 16 shots on goal as they improve to 1-1. They face the Emporia Spartans Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Wichita South Titan Classic.
