Rape Crisis Center Receives Grant

KSCB News - September 21, 2011 3:37 pm

Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt recently announced that Liberal Area Rape Crisis & Domestic Violence Service, Inc., of Liberal, has been awarded a $38,000 grant for its victims’ service programs. The grant will support safety and advocacy for shelter victims.

“We are thankful for the many organizations throughout Kansas that provide essential services to crime victims in their time of need,” Schmidt said. “These funds will help enable these key partners to continue serving victims in their communities.”

Funds for this project were awarded from the State Crime Victims Assistance Fund along with a special allocation from the State General Fund authorized by the Kansas legislature earlier this year. The Attorney General’s Office Victims Services Grants Program this year awarded nearly $3 million in grants to local and state crime victim assistance organizations.
