KSCB News - December 15, 2012 7:34 am

Liberal let a 15 point second half lead slip in a 67-64 loss at Perryton in front of a raucous crowd Friday night. Liberal nailed a season high seven three pointers but saw the Rangers (9-2) finish the game on a 29-9 run to shock the Skins. Liberal committed 17 turnovers in the loss.

The Redskins (2-4) led most of the way including 18-11 at the end of one quarter and 36-27 at halftime. Liberal’s biggest lead was 53-38 in the third quarter but led just 55-49 at the end of three.

The Rangers won despite losing their best player, Keeton Willeford, to a knee injury early in the fourth quarter. Despite the injury, which does not appear to be serious, Willeford had 25.

Liberal had a balanced scoring attack led by J.J. Lewis who scored 14. Elmer Quintana scored 13 and made four three pointers. Trenton Hammond had 11 while Britton Abbott and Blake Stout scored 10.
