Public Input Requested In SCCC/ATS Strategic Planning

KSCB News - September 29, 2010 12:00 am

Seward County Community College/Area Technical School is continuing the strategic planning process with an emphasis on college ??s land and facility usage.

The planning team from Bartlett & West and Architect One has scheduled several focus group meetings to solicit ideas and recommendations for the planning process. The public is invited to participate in the process by attending a focus group at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 1801 N. Kansas in Liberal, in room 214, which is located above the Saints Bookstore in the student activities building.

The college has enlisted the assistance of architects and engineers from Bartlett & West and Architect One to develop a visionary concept of the college. That concept will include campus access, campus building additions, auto and pedestrian access, activity areas, safety and aesthetic aspects of the campus, and a focus on creating a single campus connection between the area technical school the academic, activities, student housing, and fine arts buildings. Additionally the Epworth Allied Health Education Center and Colvin Adult Learning Center will be included the planning and visionary process.

The college ??s long-term planning process is an important aspect of the future of our local and area communities. Your input toward the visionary development of the college and the services, programs, and activities it offers is helpful.
