Olmstead To Return To Bee Jays For The 2021 Season
September 3, 2020
The Liberal Bee Jays are pleased to announce that Eric Olmstead will return as the head coach for the 2021 season. He led the team to a 30-9 record last year with a 5th place finish at the NBC World Series. This will be Coach Olmstead’s fourth year with the program serving as assistant coach in 2018 and head coach in 2019 where he led the team to a KCLB League Championship.
Coach Eric Olmstead commented, “I am excited to return as the head coach of the Liberal Bee Jays. The team had an amazing summer of 2020 amidst a difficult time in our country and I am extremely proud of the players and the entire organization. Thank you to my family for the endless support and to the Bee Jays Board and fans for welcoming me back as the head coach for 2021!”
Liberal Bee Jays President Todd King says, “Coach Olmstead’s return as the head coach is a blessing. As we all know, the success of the 2020 season was due in large part to his commitment in ensuring that the Liberal Bee Jays legacy continued. While many other teams chose to cancel their summer season, Eric provided an unmatched stability for our program, players, fans, and host families. Eric has a way of bringing the team together as a FAMILY and we know this will continue under his leadership. The Board and I are pleased to work with Coach Olmstead and are looking forward to another great year of Liberal Bee Jays baseball.”
