MEADE – Sandra K. Ergott, age 82, passed away Monday evening, January 19, 2026, at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita, Kansas.

She was born September 2, 1943, at Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Kenneth Lee and Velma L. (Pippitt) Pemberton. As a young girl, she attended school in Meade, graduating from Meade High School in 1961. A longtime area resident, she had worked as a sales associate for Walmart for many years.

She enjoyed her cats, working puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Debi Smith of Meade, and Ronda Herin of Lipan, Texas; five grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronny Lee Pemberton.

In accordance to her request, cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date. Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade, has been entrusted with arrangements.

The family would welcome memorials to the Liberal Animal Shelter or the in care of the funeral home.
