Paula Joan Maple

Paula Joan Maple, age 71, of Ulysses, KS died Saturday, February 25, 2012 at her home. She was born April 6, 1940 at Amarillo , TX , the daughter of Paul and Elizabeth (Chapman) Obrecht.

Paula spent her childhood and received her education in Panhandle and Claude , TX . Paula was a longtime resident of Ulysses, KS. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ulysses Church of Christ.

On May 29, 1963 she married Theodore J. Maple at Denton , TX . He survives.

Other survivors include one daughter; Merilynn Hite of Bartlett , TN , one son; Paul H. Maple of Brentwood , TN , and seven grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Monroe Obrecht, and a granddaughter; Eden Elizabeth Maple.

Funeral Services will be at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 , at the Church of Christ in Ulysses, KS with Warren Baldwin, Minister, officiating. A second service will be held at 4:00 p.m. at Silver Maple Camp in Kingman , KS . Burial will follow at the Hunt Cemetery in rural Kingman , KS . Friends may call on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. , with the family present at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses, KS.
