Ila Loree Edwards, died March 14, 2020, at the Minneola District Hospital, Minneola, Kansas.

Ila was born December 27, 1924, to Moses and Rosa (Nelson) Hadlock in Gray County, Kansas, on her Haldock grandparent’s farm that was homesteaded northwest of Fowler, Kansas.

Ila attended Meade High School, graduating in 1943. She married Charles (Chuck) Edwards in 1946, in a double wedding ceremony with lifelong friend, Nadine Howell Stanley and husband Lyle Stanley, at the First Baptist Church in Meade, Kansas. Chuck and Ila raised livestock and farmed dryland and irrigated crops.

Ila enjoyed farm life with gardening and her many projects, which she shared with her grandchildren. Ila appreciated the friendships she shared with the community and served as a 4H leader for twelve years.

Ila was preceded in death by her husband Chuck on January 7, 1998; two sons, Mark and Michael Edwards; two sisters, Opal Hadlock and Doris Elliott; and a brother, Larry Hadlock. Survivors include a son, Steve Edwards an his wife Carolda; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Donna Hadlock; a niece; a nephew; and sister Leah Burkhart.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at the Church of the Nazarene, Meade, Kansas. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.

The family would welcome memorials to the Minneola Nursing Home or the Minneola District Hospital in care of the funeral home.
