David A. Miller

David A. Miller, age 51, of Wichita , Kansas formerly of Ulysses, Kansas died Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita , Kansas . He was born December 31, 1960 in Garden City, Kansas , the son of Lawrence R. and Geraldine M. (Longtin) Miller.

David grew up in Ulysses and graduated from Ulysses High School . He worked as a mechanic and was also an accomplished carpenter. David was very strong willed with a good sense of humor and enjoyed joking with everyone he met. David never met a stranger; and after you met him you were soon considered a friend. David loved spending time with his family; which was the most important part of his life. David was a member of Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses.

He is survived by two sons, Cory Miller and fiancé Lindsay Huber of Holcomb, Kansas, Kenny Miller and wife Samantha of Ulysses, Kansas; four brothers, Bob Jones and wife Ann of Mims, Florida, Mike Miller and wife Teresa of Clinton, Oklahoma, Pat Miller and wife Laura of Liberal, Kansas, Tony Miller and wife Cynthia of Ulysses, Kansas; two sisters, Judy Nedom and husband Bob of Ulysses, Kansas, Connie Lewis and husband Bill of Liberal, Kansas; and six grandchildren, Natalie, Elizabeth, Riley, Kaylee, Brooklyn and K’cie.

David is preceded in death by his parents; niece, Devin Parks; and many aunts and uncles.

Memorial mass will be held Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas with Reverend Trong Binh Tran officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery . Friends may call Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given in lieu of flowers to David Miller Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave , Ulysses , KS 67880 .
