New Political Party in Oklahoma

Americans Elect is now a recognized political party in Oklahoma. The Libertarian Party did not obtain enough valid petition signatures to gain recognition.
Voters will need to be aware of the following facts.
1. Oklahoman’s may register to vote as members of the Americans Elect Party.
2. Americans Elect may field partisan candidates in Primary Elections as well as place Electors for President and Vice President on the General Election ballot in November, 2012. Persons who file or who intend to file for Americans Elect nomination for any state or county office or for any other partisan office must have changed their political affiliation to Americans Elect no later than April 12, 2012.
3. Americans Elect candidates may submit an Oklahoma Voter Registration Application form to change their political affiliation along with their Declaration of Candidacy form on Wednesday, April 11 and Thursday, April 12. Any Americans Elect candidates who file on Friday, April 13 must previously have submitted no later than April 12 an application for change of political affiliation to the new party.
