There aren’t many more competitive people than Liberal soccer coach Lori Navarro. It’s a part of her makeup which has helped make her successful. But even in defeat, the interim Liberal girls soccer coach credited her teams’ effort Tuesday. Playing at the 15 seed on the road at the two seed Hays, LHS was competitive in a 2-0 loss. The WAC champion Indians scored a goal at the 20 minute mark of the first half and 38 seconds before halftime. LHS held Hays scoreless in the second half. Hays led the shots on goal category 13-5. Hays is 14-3.

Liberal finishes a tumultuous season in which their head coach walked out on them with a 2-14-1 record. They finished 0-7-1 in the WAC.
