MMA Champ Visits Liberal

Former mixed martial arts champion Brian Bowles will be in Liberal to sign autographs and meet fans Friday and Saturday night. The 8-1 former WEC champion from Athens, Georgia will be at Plantation Station in Liberal Friday night for the weigh in and Saturday night for Throwdown Showdown 7. Local fighters Jesus Adame of Liberal and Cesar Castillo of Beaver will turn pro during Saturday night’s event. Bowles, Adame, Castillo, DaKeitha West, and David Rine were guests during the Sportsguys this week. Rine’s American Freestyle Karate present the event with doors opening Saturday at 3 p.m. and fights beginning at 5 p.m. For more information, call 626-KICK.
