Man Arrested For Involuntary Manslaughter

Garden City Police arrested 23-year-old Estevan Hernandez for allegedly mistreating his mother and letting her die.

Last September, police found 64-year-old Odelia Hernandez dead in her bedroom apartment.

Odelia was emaciated and had not been taken care of for some time.

During the investigation, police say they found the apartment filled with trash and human waste.

Through further investigation, police allege Odelia’s son, Estevan Hernandez, was living with her and had taken on the responsibility of caring for her.

Estevan was arrested on a warrant for charges of involuntary manslaughter and mistreatment of a dependent adult.
