Liberal’s Schwulst is National Pitcher of the Week

Liberal Bee Jay pitcher Andrew Schwulst was recognized for his outstanding pitching last week.  The right hander is the collegiatesummerbaseball.com pitcher of the week.  Here is what they had to say about Andy.

“Andrew Schwulst (West Texas A&M) tossed 8 Innings of shutout baseball in just 88 pitches, allowing only 3 singles with 1 BB and 9 punch outs to earn a win for the Liberal Bee Jays of the Jayhawk League.”

Schwulst is a 6’3″ 195 pound right handed pitcher from Lamar Community College who has signed at WT.  He is from Aurora, Colorado and Cherokee Trail High School.  He went 8-2 at Lamar this season with 69 strikeouts and 25 walks.  He has 24 strikeouts and eight walks for the Liberal Bee Jays.

Liberal hosts the Wellington Heat Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 7 at Brent Gould Field.  The games air on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
