KSCB News - September 4, 2012 4:51 pm

It was a dream come true for Liberal’s Nate Davis Saturday evening. The 2009 Liberal High School graduate took the field at Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan. Although Davis wasn’t playing to the team who grew up admiring (KSU), he still proved to be one of the best players on the field Saturday. Davis plays and starts at linebacker for the Missouri State Bears who pushed K-State but would up losing 51-9 in front of over 50-thousand fans Saturday in the Little Apple. Davis led the Bears with 12 tackles and had MSU’s only sack of K-State’s Collin Klein.

This is Davis’s senior year at the Springfield school. He played two years at Garden City before transferring to Missouri State.

Davis was the WAC Player of the Year at LHS under coach Tom Schroeder in 2008 when he ran for 861 yards and eight touchdowns. He had 305 receiving yards. He led the Redskin defense with 81 tackles. Davis was also a state runner up in wrestling at 189 and one of the top hurdlers in the state.
