Liberal Woman Dies in Accident Near Shattuck OK

A fatality accident occurred Sunday evening at approximately 10:00 pm on E county Road 37 approximately 731 feet west of US-283, located 14 miles north of Shattuck, OK in Ellis County.
A 2004 Ford F-150 driven by Arely Tarango, age 20 of Liberal, KS was westbound on E County Road 37. After she crossed US-283, Tarango lost control on the gravel, causing the Ford to depart the roadway to the right, roll two times, before striking a tree and coming to rest. Tarango was pinned in the truck before being extricated by use of the hurst tools. She was pronounced deceased on the scene by Ellis County EMS. Tarango was transported by Shaw Funeral Home to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s office.
A passenger in the vehicle, Name withheld, juvenile Female*** age 16 of Liberal was Transported by Ellis County EMS to Newman Memorial hospital in Shattuck, OK where she was treated and released for minor injuries.
A second passenger in the vehicle, Eduin Gallegos, age 18 of Booker, TX. Was transported by Ellis County EMS to Newman Memorial hospital in Shattuck, OK where he was treated and released for minor injuries.
