Liberal Wins Senior Night Over Great Bend

Liberal’s soccer team won their Senior Night game over Great Bend 4-1 Monday evening at Redskin Field.  Mike Fonseca scored from deep from the right side to lead 1-0 at the 22:43 mark.  LHS led 1-0 at the half despite having the wind in the first half.  Great Bend got the wind in the second half and scored just one minute into the second half.  Brian Alvarez scored on a PK at the 31:50 mark for a 2-1 Redskin lead.  Mike Fonseca scored at the 23:55 mark to give the Redskins a 3-1 lead.  Alvarez scored on a PK at the 21:26 mark for a 4-1 lead.

Liberal is 10-5 and 6-1 in the WAC while Great Bend is 8-6-2 and 3-5 in the WAC.  Liberal plays at 15-0 Dodge City Thursday with a WAC title on the line.  LHS could share the WAC with a win.  img_0082
