Liberal Wins a Match at Sub State

Liberal’s volleyball season is over.  However, they didn’t go out without making some noise.  Liberal upset Hutchinson at their 6A sub state Saturday in Derby.  After losses to the Salt Hawks earlier this season in Haysville and Hutchinson, Liberal won when it counted most defeating Hutchinson 25-21, 25-23.  Bree Horyna had seven kills and Machia Mullens added six.  Logan Dodge and Sarah Mein had 11 assists a piece.  Lizzy Cisneros had 17 digs.

Liberal then lost to Derby in the sub state final 8-25, 14-25.  Aubrey Warden had five kills and Raegan Watt had three.  Mein had seven assists and Cisneros had seven digs.

LLiberal finishes 16-21.
