On Wednesday at approximately 4:50 p.m., members of the Liberal Police Department, Liberal Fire Department, and Seward County EMS responded to the intersection of 7th and Calhoun for a possible injury accident. Upon arrival, it was learned that a 2012 Toyota Yaris was being driven eastbound on 7th by a 16 year old female and a 2008 Buick Enclave was being westbound on 7th by a 26 year old male. The 26 year old male turned south without yielding to the 16 year old female and was struck causing the Yaris to spin and strike a 2001 Toyota Avalon driven by an 18 year old male. The 16 year old female was evaluated by EMS but refused to be transported to the hospital. The Yaris and the Enclave had to be towed from the scene. The 26 year old male was issued a citation for Failing to Yield while Turing Left and No Driver’s License.
