Liberal Man Indicted For Arson

A Liberal man has been indicted on one count of arson for setting fire to a local store. The indictment against Shivantha Kulatunga, 26, was announced Wednesday.

According to the indictment, on Jan. 4, 2010, Kulatunga set fire to the Rent-A-Center store at 200 E. Parkway Boulevard in Liberal.

If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of not less than 5 years and not more than 20 years and a fine up to $250,000. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated.
