Liberal City Commisson Meets, Discusses Re-Opening the City

The Liberal City Commission met on Tuesday evening and discussed the reopening of the City. The Commission decided to follow the Governor’s plan through the Phase Out.

Adventure Bay Waterpark was also before the Commission with the concensus that if the City could not safely open the facility by July 1st, it would not open for the summer of 2020.

The City Commission approved the submittal of a $7,500 grant for the Solid Waste Department Recycling for 2021, with a City match of $2,500 and approved the donation of a can rack for the Liberal Senior Citizens Center.

Also approved was the rent waiver for SkyWest at the Mid America Regional Airport and the change order for Seward Street. Cost of the Base bid for Seward Street is $494,608.50.

Bambi Fulton was appointed to the Liberal Housing Authority Board and the City accepted the conditions a CARES Act Grant for the airport in the amount of $69,000.00.

Cann Creek Hydro Mulching was approved by the Commission in the amount of $13,650.
