Liberal City Commission Meets, Wraps Up 2015

The Liberal City commission met tuesday evening for their final meeting of 2015. Among the items on the agenda were several end of the year "Housekeeping" items.

The Commission approved Ordinance 4464 which amended the 2015 annual budget, approved 2015 transfers and approved the reclassification of deliquent accounts receivable and utility accounts.

Commissioners also approved the final readings of the Standard Traffic ordinance and the Public offense Codes.

Lt. Jared Ratzlaff was before the commission to give an update on the My Police Department App., and the Commissioners re-appointed Norma Jean Dodge to the JEDC Board.

Also at the meeting the Commission approved the Cemetery Irrigation Automation in the amount of $9,155.54 with the supplies coming from HD Waterworks, and the work to be done in house.

For 2016, the City Commission approved 2016 Housing and Economic Development incentives which include:New Construction Single Family Home Incentive, First Time Home Buyer Program, Safe At Home, Senior Housing Opportunities, Paint The Town Program, Industrial Park Incentive Program, Downtown Office Relocation Grant, Downtown Building Conversion Grant, Facade Improvement Program, Marketing Program and the New Construction Multi Family Housing Incentive Program. For mor information on any of these programs, the public is encourage to stop in to City Hall.

Two retirees were honored at Tuesdays meeting, and the were: Reggie Deleon and Paul Phillips, both with the Street Department.
