Liberal City Commission Meets, Approves Grant

The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening at 7:00pm for their regularly scheduled meeting. On the Agenda were two Proclamations, one Declaring National Family Literacy Day, and the second Proclaiming November National American Indian Heritage Month. Also on the agenda was the acceptance of a Nighttime Seatbelt Enforcement Program Grant. The amount of the Grant, $10,794.60 would be split over two years and will allow a Certified Officer to be an anonymous "Spotter"during night time hours, placed in various locations throughout the City, looking for motorists who do not buckle up. This "Spotter" would then radio another in a Squad car to locate the violator and issue a citation. The Commission approved the acceptance of this Grant. The next regular meeting of the Liberal City Commission will be November 13th.
