Liberal City Commission Holds Public Hearing on RHID’s

The Liberal City Commission met on Tuesday evening and held the Public Hearings on the RHID’s for Chance Road and Apache Lane then approved the Development Plan for Chance Road and Apache Lane Development as presented.

The Commission rejected RESOLUTION NO. 2403 which would have allowed for alcohol sales in an area on City property next to Light Park. This would have been a beer garden type of area set up by a vendor for Food Truck Saturday.

The Commissioners approved the purchase of two, 2023 Hustler 72″ rear discharge mower not to exceed $28,000 from Keating Tractor and Equipment with the money to come from the equipment reserve fund, and approved purchasing fitness equipment from Advanced Exercise for the Wellness Center at the Recreation Center for an amount not to exceed $115,000. This will be utilized by City Employees.

Also the Commission gave a consensus to move forward with changes to the Building Contract Agreement, and they approved The Facade Improvement Grant Program to be changed to provide up to $10,000 per approved project. Improvements to the facade, parking lot, sidewalks or other exterior improvements may qualify for matching funds.
