Liberal Chamber of Commerce to Host Candidate Forums

The Liberal Chamber of Commerce will be holding a series of candidate forums beginning next week. On Monday, March the 9th, all nine city commission candidates have agreed to participate in a candidate forum beginning at 6:00pm at the Rock Island Depot. The forum is expected to last until 8:00pm. The city commission candidates will then have a second forum on March the 23rd. There are 9 candidates running for 3 positions on the Liberal City Commission. On March the 12th, also at the depot and also starting at 6:00pm, candidates for USD 480 School Board will also have a forum. There are 5 candidates running for 3 positions on the school board. All forums will be televised on cable channel 18, aired on Talk Radio 1270, and the public is invited to attend. Questions will be taken by e-mail at [email protected] and by phone at 620-624-3855, both prior to and during the forums. Questions will also be allowed by the attending audience. The General Election is set for April the 7th, with advanced voting starting on March 18th.
