LHS Softball Splits at Scott City

After two losses Friday at Wichita Southeast, Liberal’s softball team split at Scott City on Monday.  Friday, the Southeast Buffaloes beat Liberal 14-4 and 9-3.  Liberal’s losing streak reached seven with an 8-4 loss at Scott City Monday.  LHS out-hit Scott City 9-8 in the loss but committed six errors.  The Lady Red led 4-1 with three in the third but did not score again.  Whitney Hay was 3-4 in the loss.  In game two, Liberal won 11-9.  LHS scored seven in the second.  Liberal built 10-3 lead after four innings.  Alexia Torres was 3-5 at the plate with three RBI’s.  Kaeleah Chaloupek was 2-3.  Nohemi Gomez was 2-4 with three RBI’s.  Liberal is 6-8 on the season and hosts Elkhart on Friday.
