LHS Girls Finish Tennis Season at Goddard Regional

Brock Kappelmann - October 9, 2017 5:44 am

The Lady Skin Tennis season came to a close on Saturday at Regionals in
Goddard. In a single-elimination tournament, no varsity girl advanced, but
Senior Valery Esqueda went down swinging. Over the past three years at
Regionals, Esqueda had to battle to win a single point. On Saturday,
Valery pushed her Maize opponent to the end winning three games. Junior,
Rebecca Irby, gained valuable experience to bring back next year, and
doubles teams of Mariyvette Aguilar and Jadyn Williams, along with Cynthia
Amaro and Johaly Portillo had some impressive points but fell short
representing their school with honor. I am proud of the efforts this year.
