Last Chance/Men’s Pacer Race Fields Set

The Women’s Last Chance Race has two contestants, Jan Nondorf and Shawn Steele. Nondorf is the coordinator/director for PACT, Inc. She ran in the Last Chance Race in 2007 and 2009, winning the race in 2009. She was an International Racer in 1989 and 1990. Nondorf is a long-time Pancake Board member. This is Shawn Steele’s first Last Chance Race. She is a secretary at Basic Energy Services. The Women’s Last Chance Race is set for 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Full slate to compete in Men’s Pacer Race

A full slate of 15, including last year’s first- and second-place finishers, will compete in the Men’s Pacer Race: Justin Alexander, Joe Denoyer, Joshua Maestas, Cruz Eatmon, Hayden Ukens, Alejandro Avila, Tyson McGuire, Emery Swagerty, Tyson Small, Bradley Kinser, Joe Herrera, Ivan Aragon, Jesus Salais, Jonathan Nieves, and Joshua Panashe Juma.
Avila, 22, works at Hibbett Sports and won the Men’s Race in both 2013 and 2012.
Also returning is McGuire, 29, who took second place in 2013 and 2012. McGuire is a teacher and coach for USD 480.
Eatmon, 24, has a sister, Lakeria Eatmon, who is competing in the International Race.
Alexander, 30, is a technician at Travis Scale Co. Denoyer, 53, is a DJ at KLDG/KSCB and also competed in the Men’s Race last year. Maestas, 28, is an OR tech at Southwest Medical Center.
Four of the contestants work as mechanics at Central Power Systems and Services: Herrera, 30; Aragon, 30; Salais, 22; and Nieves, 24.
Swagerty, 52, is a library technician at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School. Three SCCC/ATS students round out the Men’s slate: Ukens, 19; Kinser, 20; and Juma, 20.
